Creating a Project
After signing in, you’ll land on the dashboard—your central hub for managing all your projects.
Click on “+”
Look for the “+” button — located on the left. Click it to kick things off.
Name Your Project
Give your project a clear, descriptive name. This helps keep things organized, especially if you’re juggling multiple projects
Upload Your Content
Select your video from your device. CoachCut supports various formats, making it easy to get started no matter what equipment you’re using.
Choose a Keybinding Preset
Choose our built in or create a custom keybinding preset that will help streamline your editing process later on.
Navigating the Timeline
Play/Pause
You can quickly play or pause your footage by clicking the Play button on the control panel. For even faster control, just hit the Spacebar on your keyboard—perfect for speeding up your workflow.
Jump to a Specific Time
Need to get to an exact moment? Simply click directly on the timeline to jump to that point in the video. This makes it easy to pinpoint key moments you want to edit.
Scrub Through Footage
Click and drag the timeline cursor to smoothly scrub through your footage. This allows you to quickly review long clips and find the exact frame you need.
Adjust Playback Speed
Want to analyze a play in slow motion or speed through a long section? CoachCut lets you easily speed up or slow down your footage. Just adjust the playback speed settings to get the perfect pace for reviewing.
Creating Keybinds
Press the “+” Button
Start by clicking the “+” button in the keybindings menu.
Assign a Key
After pressing the “+”, simply press the key on your keyboard that you want to assign the action to. Whether it’s a letter, number, or special key, CoachCut will recognize it instantly.
Name Your Keybinding
Give your new shortcut a clear and descriptive name. This makes it easier to remember what each key does—especially useful if you’re setting up multiple custom actions.
Add a Color for Easy Recognition
You can also assign a color to your keybinding. This visual cue helps you quickly spot specific shortcuts in your list, making your workflow even more intuitive.

Make sure all your desired shortcuts are created and customized with names and colors.
Enter a Template Name
In the keybindings section, enter a clear, descriptive name for your template—this helps you easily identify it later.
Press the Save Button
Once you’ve named your template, hit the “Save” button. CoachCut will store your custom keybindings, making them easily accessible for future projects.
Quickly Load Saved Templates
When starting a new project, simply load your saved keybinding template from the menu. This ensures your favorite shortcuts are always ready to go, saving you setup time.
Creating Clips
Clip Sections Instantly with Your Keybind
When you reach a section you want to clip, simply press the keybind you created. A new 15 second clip will automatically appear on the timeline, making it easy to mark key moments without interrupting your workflow.
Rename Clips for Better Organization
Simply click on any clip and rename it to something descriptive—like “Goal”, “Forecheck”, or “Turnover”. This makes it easier to navigate your project later.
Create Multiple Clips Effortlessly
You’re not limited to just one clip—press your keybind as many times as needed throughout your footage. Each press will create a new clip on the timeline, allowing you to mark multiple important moments in real-time.
Preview Individual Clips
You can click on any section to watch it back instantly. This feature helps you quickly review specific clips without having to scroll through the entire timeline.
Activate or Deactivate Clips
If you need to focus on certain sections or temporarily hide others, you can easily activate or deactivate clips. Deactivated clips won’t play during playback, allowing you to streamline your review process and focus on what matters most.
Exporting
Only Active Clips Will be Exported
Before exporting, make sure only the clips you want to include are activated. Deactivated clips will be excluded, allowing you to export only the moments that matter.
Press the Export Button
When you’re ready, simply hit the “Export” button. CoachCut will automatically process your active clips and prepare your final video.
Find Your Video Ready to Go
Once the export is complete, your video will be saved directly to your files. It’s now ready to be opened, reviewed, and shared with your teammates, coaches, or audience.
